Before you travel with Marella Cruises

Before you set sail on your Marella Cruise, it's important you know everything you need to do before you depart. Below we have pulled together some useful information for you to read ahead of your trip to ensure you have a stress-free cruise holiday.

Marella Cruises requires you to enter your Advance Passenger Information (API) e.g. Passport information in order to check in before travel.

The easiest and most secure way to do this is to visit the Marella Cruise Control. Not only can you add your passport information here, but you can also book onboard amenities including dining and shore excursions.

Once you are within 7 days of travel our Seascanner Support Team will send you your Marella cruise E-Tickets. These are sent to you via email and have all the information about your forthcoming cruise.

Your luggage tags will also be available through Marella Cruise Control 2 weeks prior to departure if you have pre-booked your cabin.

Marella Cruises have a number of health and safety measures that they have put in place to keep you and your party safe whilst travelling onboard one of their ships so it's worth learning about these so you are fully prepared before you travel with them. Click here to view their latest protocols.

Everything you need before you travel with Marella Cruises can be found through the Marella Cruise Control.

To log in/sign up to Marella Cruise Control you will need:

  • Your Departure Date (DD/MM/YYYY).
  • Your Marella booking reference (You will need to use your Marella booking reference which can be found on your booking confirmation. Please do not use your Seascanner booking reference).
  • The Lead Passenger's Surname (Please enter the lead passenger's surname as it appears on your booking confirmation).

On Marella Cruise Control you will be able to:

  • Complete the online check-in process to access your travel documents.
  • Print your luggage labels and boarding passes for your cruise.
  • Book your excursions and onboard experiences.

Marella Cruises offer an incredible choice when it comes to shore excursions so whether you prefer adventure, nature, culture or history, they'll be plenty to keep you entertained in every port you visit. Make sure you book in advance to not only save money on your excursions but also to secure your place as these do tend to sell out.

You'll need your booking reference, cruise start date and lead passenger surname to view and pre book excursions via Marella Cruise Control, which you can access here.

If you're into your food, Marella offers a huge range of speciality dining options onboard their ships with big savings if you book prior to embarking on your cruise. Simply log in to your Marella Cruise Control account and book ahead of your trip, which you can access here.

With onboard experiences being very popular, it's definitely worth booking these in advance as you may struggle to secure a spot if you leave it until the last minute. Just visit your Marella Cruise Control account and book ahead of your trip, which you can access here.

Have you sorted out your travel insurance yet? Cruise lines require passengers to have comprehensive travel insurance that includes specific cruise cover. Failure to obtain appropriate insurance will result in you being denied boarding by the cruise line. Here is a travel insurance provider that Seascanner highly recommends: https://www.seascanner.co.uk/travel-insurance.

Passports are required for travel. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. Proof of residency will be required for non UK Passport Holders. There are also new passport validity requirements for travelling to any EU destinations. You can use this handy passport checker on the Gov.uk website here.

Pre-embarkation testing varies by cruise line. Please make sure you check Marella Cruises website for the latest testing requirements for your cruise here so there are no delays when you come to board your ship.

If your booking has flights, you will be able to service your flights through Flight Extras. Here you will be able to choose your seats on the plane via the seat map as well as upgrade and add extras.
