Before you travel with Royal Caribbean Cruises

Before you set sail on your Royal Caribbean ship, it's important you know everything you need to do before you depart. Below we have pulled together some useful information for you to read ahead of your trip to ensure you have a stress-free cruise holiday.

In order to check-in, receive your tickets and book additional amenities onboard your cruise, you'll need to register for a 'my cruise' account with Royal Caribbean if you have not sailed with them previously. Click here to register now

From check-in to planning onboard activities, you can do it all with the Royal Caribbean International app. By downloading the app you'll be able to check-in online, make reservations onboard for speciality dining, excursions and shows as well as keep up to date with what's happening on board your ship whilst onboard. Click here to find out how to download the app now

Royal Caribbean will be in touch in advance of your sail date to advise you on your check-in dates. They advise guests to download their app prior to this as it provides a quick and easy check-in process so you can start your vacation sooner. If you'd like to check-in online instead once Royal Caribbean contact you, click here to log in to your account

As your cruise gets closer, Royal Caribbean will be in touch to advise you on all the health and safety protocols that will be in place on your cruise. If you'd like to find out more beforehand, click here to view their latest policies.

Passports are required for travel. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. Proof of residency will be required for non UK Passport Holders. There are also new passport validity requirements for travelling to any EU destinations. You can use this handy passport checker on the Gov.uk website here.

This will need to be taken with you, and online check-in should be completed in advance on your 'my cruise' account. Click here to sign in to your 'my cruise' account.

If booking your package holiday a long way in advance, we may not have the exact flight and hotel details available at the time of booking. However, we will provide as much information as we can about airport location and dates, plus hotel star rating and general area.

We will then contact you 7 months prior to your departure with all the details required for your holiday. This will include your airline and flight times, plus your hotel name, address and room details.

If your departure is 7 or more months away, please do not contact about flight and hotel details.

If you're the type of person who likes to explore the ports you visit, then you might want to secure your spot on one of Royal Caribbean's shore excursions. You can do this through your 'My Cruise' account. Royal Caribbean advise that you do this sooner rather than later to save on missing out as these tend to sell out.

Pre-embarkation testing varies by cruise line. Please make sure you check the most recent notices from Royal Caribbean in your 'my cruise' account or view more information on their website here

Make sure your cover meets the Royal Caribbean requirement to board. Cover specifically for COVID-19 must be present. This can be viewed on the Royal Caribbean website here. This service takes you from a specific location, like your home, airport, hotel, train station, or another designated meeting point, directly to the cruise port where your ship is docked, or vice versa.

If you do not see the option to reserve speciality restaurants, make sure you keep checking your 'My Cruise' account.

Have you seen a show that you want to see whilst onboard your cruise? Head to your 'My Cruise' account to access your cruise planner and reserve your seats. Entertainment reservations can be made online up to 4 days before the sail date. If sailing in less than 4 days, guests will need to make reservations onboard at the Box office, subject to availability.
